Meet Our Founder

Teri J. Cabrera, MPA
Founder and President
Teri Cabrera is an educator, advocate, and community leader committed to creating meaningful change through education and mental health awareness. In the classroom, she equips her students with a strong foundation in the English language while empowering them to become confident advocates for themselves—both in school and in life.

Her passion for education extends far beyond her classroom walls. As the founder of The Mind Field, Inc., Teri works to dismantle the barriers that prevent minority communities from openly addressing mental health. Through her leadership, she is actively reducing stigma and fostering spaces where conversations about mental wellness are accessible, culturally relevant, and transformative.

Teri earned her Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in English from Texas A&M University. She later obtained her Master’s in Public Affairs, with a concentration in Nonprofit Management, from the University of Texas at Dallas. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership at Abilene Christian University.

In addition to her work in education, Teri is a Partner with Social Ventures Partners Dallas and a certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor, further demonstrating her commitment to serving her community and advancing mental health awareness.
